The Vision
PropSki is the largest property skiing event in the industry, offering professionals a unique opportunity to network through a range of activities in Val Thorens. For their 2023 event, they needed a comprehensive Welcome Pack. The objective was to create a highly informative, premium brochure that would serve as the ultimate guide for attendees, housing event details, advertisements, and a complete delegates list.
The Design Process
The project kicked off with a few early drafts of the initial pages, which allowed us to quickly establish a strong visual style that would anchor the entire Welcome Pack. From there, we moved through several collaborative design rounds. It was a balancing act of editorial layout: strategically adding new informational pages and seamlessly positioning sponsor advertisements without cluttering the user experience.
The Technical Workflow
One of the most complex parts of an event brochure is managing the ever-changing list of attendees. Instead of manually typesetting hundreds of names and risking errors, I streamlined the workflow by directly integrating the client's Excel document with Adobe InDesign.
Managing the Delegates List:
- Automated the typesetting of hundreds of names.
- Kept the delegates list highly flexible.
- Allowed last-minute additions right up until the print deadline.
The Outcome
The final product was a robust, 44-page Welcome Pack. It was distributed digitally to all delegates prior to the event and printed physically for on-site distribution, providing a polished and professional touchpoint for the entire PropSki networking experience.
